Klung Plu National Park

I woke up really sunburned. Inside our simple fan room (we never changed the room haha but tommorrow we will) it felt like drowning in your own sweat in the seventh chamber of hell. Sonja woke up earlier and went to the pool. After some agonizing snoozes I managed to crawl under the cold shower and revive myself. Suddenly I felt quite okay. Great. Now it was time to start a new day.

Under the shade of palm trees we ate breakfast (rice) in the beach. Now I was a fully functioning human being and we decided to see local waterfalls in the near by area. Since we got tipped off few days ago from a local bartender that only one waterfall was fully functioning in the dry season we headed towards Klung Plu waterfall. Once again we got hussled by a local lady who tried to direct us to her parking lot for 10tbh. Since we are master travellers we approached her and quickly figured out that it was just bullshit, the real parking lot was ten meters ahead for free. I got an excellent spot right next to the national park officers bike.

The tickets to the national park where the waterfall is located was 200thb per person. We hiked cirka 20 minutes in the hefty tropical wilderness and the area was stunning. The view point in the end was the actual waterfall with a decent sized fresh water pool. Sonja immediately dipped in and I enjoyed the stunning surroundings of that area. We relaxed there for a while and headed back after an hour or so.

Obviously if you start to make fun of things they will usually happen. We made fun of hiking with our flipflops and mid way back I broke my other flipflop so I had to walk bare foot rest of the trail. As a side note Sonja was scared shitless by somekind of iguana/leguana (or another shitty lizard) who was sunbathing at the same spot Sonja was convinced she would get awesome pictures but their paths crossed. The lizards maniac death stair was enough for Sonja to retreat but when I tried to take a photo of it the tables turned and it ran in to the jungle, like a coward it was.

On the way home we quickly stopped at a great ocean view point for some pancakes. We drove past it a few times earlier this week and I cant understand how we missed it before.

KL KL hostel was a really great place to stay but at the dry season the fan room has proven to be too much for us and since we have to wait for our Cambodian visa for atleast the weekend so for the time being we will change our room to a similar priced room with an AirCon. Quite ironically we are apparently taking a room from the same resort we have rented our scooter from day one :D
